Covid-19 Guidelines for League Season 2021/22 Table Tennis

Hastings and District Table Tennis Association have the following guidelines for Covid-19. These are in line with Stage 5 updated on the 9th December 2021 of the Table Tennis England Ready to Return roadmap. (The updates are in Bold)

1 Track and Trace: - Each home venue will record the people who attend a League match. Method to be decided by each individual Club. (For instance, recording the names on the score card along with any visitors would meet the requirement.) This information must be kept for 10 days.

2 Hand sanitising: - Home clubs will endeavour to have hand sanitiser available. Players and visitors should consider bringing their own hand sanitiser to use as necessary. Ideally this should be at least on entering the venue.

3 Masks:  Face coverings should be worn when not participating, coaching or officiating in an activity/event. Face coverings are not required when exercising, as it is not recommended to wear a face covering while exercising or strenuous activity.

4 Social distancing: - You should limit close contact with other people.

5 Lateral Flow Testing (LFT): - You may choose to take a lateral flow test before being in close contact and also encourage those people you are meeting with to do so, which will help to manage periods of risk. This includes close contact in a higher risk environment, or when spending prolonged periods of time with a vulnerable individual.

6 In line with Government guidelines, if anyone in your household has Covid or Covid symptoms, please take a LFT and follow the guidelines if you get a positive result. You may consider not playing even if the result is negative.

7 If you feel unwell or have knowingly come into contact with anyone with Covid, please take a lateral flow test before coming to the club.

8 Breathing/spitting on bats or balls, and touching the table unnecessarily is to be discouraged, as is hand-shaking.

9 Government guidelines: - any changes in either the Government Guidelines and/or Table Tennis England recommendations will take precedence over the above.

These guidelines are here to help protect you, your team mates and your opponents keep well, and to help this season’s league to continue safely.
