Geoff Duffell passed away peacefully at Eastbourne District General Hospital on 22nd September after a short, but cruel illness. (continued)

His funeral is on 11th August in the Bournemouth area where he has been living in recent years.

Saturday 3rd June 2023 saw the welcome return of the annual Hastings and District Table Tennis Association awards evening, which this year took place at the Masonic Hall, St. Leonards-on-Sea.

The Hastings Closed Table Tennis Championships took place at the Hollington Community Centre on Sunday, 2nd April 2023. It was a long day with play starting at 9am and the last match completed by 6.30pm. There were 26 entrants, comprising of 18 men and 6 women and 2 junior boys. (continued)

Hollington Community Centre provided the venue for the East Sussex Closed and Invitation table tennis tournaments which were played on Saturday, 13th May. (continued)

The Minor Trophy final was between Bexhillians C (Tina Beaney, Brian Busbridge and David Laing) and Hollington B (Yasar Akar, Mike Courtnage and Paul Hyland). (continued)

On Thursday 11th May spectators were treated to a classic table tennis Watts Cup final between Hastings Academy 'A' and Hastings Academy 'B' as they witnessed one of the most exciting finals for years. (continued)

The Watts Cup and Minor Trophy finals will take place on Thursday 11th May at Hastings Academy starting at 7:15pm. It would be nice to have as many people come to watch this as possible.

The annual HDTTA League presentation evening will be held on Saturday 3rd June 2023 at the Masonic Hall in St. Leonards-on-Sea starting at 7:30pm.

Although only three girls took part in the second Table Tennis tournament for new Junior players in the Hastings area, played on Saturday 22nd April, Amalina Gorridge, Freya Pinna-Chapman and her sister Jasmine all demonstrated Amazonian qualities in their matches against the boys. (continued)

Hastings and District Table Tennis Association are pleased to host the East Sussex Closed Novice Tournament, which will be played at Hollington Community Centre on Saturday 13th May 2023 between 9am and 5:30pm. The entry fee is £3.00 per player. (continued)

Unfortunately Bexhillians is closed for practice this Tuesday 11th April due to the floor being resurfaced. Senior practice sessions on a Tuesday are 7.30 to 10pm. Thursday sessions will be also be at the same times when tables are available.

Bexhillians Table Tennis juniors Emily Koester, Oli Matthews and Leon Hyde, representing the Hastings and District Table Tennis League in the third round of the National Junior League competition at Byng Hall Table Tennis Club, overcame fatigue and injuries to finish third on sets difference in a very strong group comprising teams from Tunbridge Wells, Surrey and Sidcup and therefore qualify for the final session. Oli Matthews and Emily Koester were selected to represent Bexhill Academy School at this year’s East Sussex Schools Table Tennis individual championships at Patcham High School, Brighton. (continued)

The Hastings and District Table Tennis Association recently held its veteran's table tennis tournament at Bexhill YCC with a good turnout of twenty players, five in each of the age groups - meaning a 'round robin' system (everyone playing everyone) could be uniformly employed with the top two from each group going through to the staged finals.
