Match Report

Tackleway had lost heavily to Monarchs A in the earlier encounter in week one of the season, so a draw certainly felt like a win for the home side in this excellent, finely balanced match played in the best spirit of the sport.

Monarchs gained early advantage at four two up after winning a closely fought doubles in five with the score at 14-12. Tackleway came back after the doubles however, with Eden Vogel winning over Sue Paice. Jacob McCarthy then gained his second win of the evening against Sue having earlier defeated Alison Jordan in the fifth in match two.

Keith Lindsay had to play matches eight and ten with Bob (Max) Lowe winning in four. The final match with Alison was a finely balanced open, hard-hitting encounter between Alison and Keith with each chasing a deficit at times. Any slight mistakes by either player were pounced upon and so it was until the last two points with Keith getting past the line at 11-9. A good evening of local sport played as it should be.
