Premier Division

So close at the top, with Assassins on 46 points, Hang Em High on 45 points and in third place waiting for any slip up are Ping Panthers on 40 points.

This week Assassins defeated Game Changers 9-1. This was despite Game Changers bringing in Tomas Pomej as guest player with regular team Jim Skinner and Angus Ogg. For Assassins with top of the premier averages Keigo Burnham, back in form Ben Worley and a determined Charlie Hough all juniors came out with trebles. For Game Changers despite their depth in strength they only managed a consolation win in the doubles with Angus Ogg and Jim Skinner defeating Keigo and Ben 14-12 in the fifth.

One point behind the leaders Hang Em High also with maximum points defeated Bullets 8-2. Trebles for Andrew Sharland and Stephen Hoad with Michael Bridger with two going down to the experience of John Burnham for his one singles loss. Bullets went down with losses for David Champneys, Terry Dean and one win for John Burnham. In the doubles a consolation win for John Burnham and Terry Dean over Andrew Sharland and Stephen Hoad 11-7 in the fifth.

A 7-3 win for Ping Panthers over Dynamos saw a treble for Marc Burman and two apiece for John Strange and Sam Clark with the doubles having to be conceded to Dynamos owing to transport difficulties.

For Dynamos a singles win for Richard Cosens and Matthew Caddy plus the conceded doubles.


Division One

With leaders St Andrews having a bye this week Dark Horses move closer to them following a 9-1 win over Spin Masters.
It was trebles for Dark Horses Ross Knowlson, Seven Ive and Viv Cole. For Spin Masters the junior boys Riccardo Bagaini and Tommy Worley came through with a good win over Viv Cole and Ross Knowlson in the doubles to avoid a whitewash.

An excellent 6-4 win for a two man team of the Bashers over Paddlers who called up Stuart Vincent from St Andrews. For Bashers, a treble for Stuart Vincent plus two from John Bridger and the doubles for John and Stuart over Paddlers Lyle Cyster and Samantha Stoner. For Paddlers it was a win and a walkover for Lyle Cyster and a walkover apiece for Samantha Stoner and Phil Harvey.

A five all draw was the outcome between X Men and Lindfield Thunderbolts.

For X Men an excellent two apiece for both Peter Dunsby and Oliver Caddy with Peter and Oliver winning the doubles over Jim Griffin and Andy Steel to draw the match.

For Thunderbolts, a treble for Jim Griffin plus one each for Andy Steel and Vincent L’Estrange.


Division Two

Burning Rubber did well to come away with a point in their match with leaders Magiks. For Magiks it was two apiece for Kevin Deacon, Mel Sims and Alistair Blue with Kevin and Alistair winning the doubles over Blake Davies and Gavin Pitts.

For Burning Rubber team the star of the night was a treble from Blake Davies who defeated all three players in Magiks team.

Pingwins team with Adam Wiseman, Rupert Browning and Paul Lewis were in top form in defeating the girls of Swifts 10-0.
Alanna Blain, Emily Dunsby and Claudia Hough played well with close matches.

Blade Runners with the return of their captain Annick Lieutaud are returning to winning matches, this week they defeated Smashing Pumpkins 8-2. With trebles for Annick Lieutaud, Malcolm Norwood plus one from Keith Johnson, with Keith and Malcolm taking the doubles. For Smashing Pumpkins a win apiece for Peter Vincent and Oliver Howard.

Again the scorecard says 7-3 to Dangermen but all matches were real battle when Dangermen defeated Cutting Edge.
For Dangermen three from Tony Pells, two from Colin Cooper and Ron Bailham. For Cutting Edge two from David Polhill and a fantastic doubles win for David Polhill and Freddie Wiseman 12-10 in the fifth over Colin Cooper and Tony Pells to earn a point. Nine year old Oscar Wiseman for Cutting edge has the concentration and determination to become a top player. In his matches he went down 17-19 in four to Colin Cooper and 8-11 in the fifth to Ron Bailham.
