The League goes into a 2 week break, now (well, after the Friday 19-Dec match at Flamstead B), for Christmas and New Year, and we hope that everyone has a fantastic break.
Division 2 teams are reminded that McALPINE matches need to start at 7:00pm, as they have a 9:45pm finish time, and also that if anyone arrives after around 7:15pm, then they may face a long wait at Reception, since Security goes on their rounds!! Please try to ensure your players arrive on time, and keep the time used between sets and knocking up are kept to a minimum. Thanks.
In League/Cup/Plate news, things are starting to take shape, with the Wren Cup / Wren Plate moving on to the Quarter Finals stage in February - the draw will be announced very early in the New Year. The League's Closed Championships also start in mid February, and Entry Forms will also be available early in the New Year.
Division 1 is turning into a fascinating three-way battle at the top, with a series of 5-5 draws between St. Michaels, Crown & Sceptre 1st and Adeyfield 1st. Who will be the first to blink?
Division 2 is turning out to be extremely competitive, with just 19 points covering 1st to 7th, at the time of writing, although Flamstead A look to be edging ahead of their rivals.Division 3 is also looking interesting, with St. George's 1st having set the early pace, but Adeyfield C have edged ahead, albeit having played an extra game, as St. George's were held to a 5-5 draw for the first time, by Northchurch A! Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Crown & Sceptre D recorded their first League win for almost two seasons, despite being a player short, and have closed to within three points of the team above them.
