In Division One of the Table Tennis League, there is a real dogfight going on behind league leaders Goons for who will finish second this season. Goons in their latest fixture demolished Cat H by 10 sets to nil and now lead the table with 101 points from 13 matches.

  Alice, Maisie and Eppie play in the Leicester Development League for Barwell George Ward - and did well this year;

Division 7 saw G Ward D also claim second spot behind KP Wolves. GWD lost by 3 sets to 1 to the Wolves before recovering, defeating KP Foxes by 4 sets to nil and earning a good draw against Winstanley E. Matt Halliday collecting three wins from three and Freya Wynne two wins from three.

The match between the two Hit and Hope sides saw the B team claim club bragging rights with a 7 sets to 2 victory over the A team. Both Alan Morris and Steve Lawton collecting maximums for Hit ’n’ Hope B.

G Ward F took on bottom club Market Bosworth 2 and duly won by 10 sets to nil. Leanna Bancroft being unlucky losing two of her three matches to close scores in the fifth game. Man of the match was James Walker (GWF).

Meanwhile last season’s champions Goons have come back to form collecting a 7 sets to 3 win over GWB and then running up by 10 sets to nil wins over G Ward D and Queen’s Mira to go top of the table with a three point lead over Barlestone A.
