Adam Pettitt wins Leicestershire Schools Under 19 event

Adam Pettitt and Cameron Lightfoot both pupils at the Bosworth Academy in Desford and Hinckley League players for Barlestone Table Tennis Club performed very well in the recently held Leicestershire Schools under 19’s Boys Championships.

Adam won the event defeating his long term rival Aman Rashid for the second time. Aman and Adam have contested the final every year since 2009.  Adam is currently playing extremely well for his club in Division One of the Hinckley League and is 5th in the averages with over 95% of games won.

Finishing third was Cameron Lightfoot who plays in Division Two and has won over 50% of his matches.

 Adam now joins Frankie Hallam and Edward Brown in the National Finals in April.

In the Midland Vetts League Hinckley “A” have started the season well  and are currently unbeaten having drawn their first match again Shrewsbury and then picked up a surprise win over Birmingham “C” by 6 sets to 4. Andy Spring and Pete Jamieson both winning two each, with Brian Hagger collecting one win and Jamieson and Hagger winning the vital doubles to ensure the points. They are handily placed in fourth spot in the League table.

Not such good news for Hinckley B” who are currently bottom of the table with 2points from2 matches.
