Sonja finished as runner up beating Wilma 11/5, 16/18, 11/7, 11/5. The Ladies Doubles was a straight final between current holders Khayee Vinas & Wlima Dalugdugan, Maggie Mulhern, and Sonja Shaw. Maggie and Sonja got off to a good start by taking the first end 11/3, but couldn’t keep up the momentum losing the next 3 games 8/11, 9/11, 3/11.

Played in 3 groups, Glenn Callow came through group A as winner with Wilma Dalugdugan in second place. The second semi between William Shooter and Ege Niyazi saw William winning 8/11, 11/3, 11/5, 11/5. The final swung one way then the other, but was eventually won by Glenn 11/9, 8/11, 11/3, 13/15, 11/9.

Over 40s
This event was due to be played in two groups of four but due to illness and a no show it was
eventually played as a group of 5. All of the players were evenly matched and 7 out of the 10 games
played were decided in the 5th end. John Shooter emerged the winner after winning all of his games, and after a count back Marc Townsend
emerged as runner up.

Over 50s

To be competed this coming week and an update will follow

Over 60s
Playing in two groups of 3 Malcolm Cummings as number one seed, won Group A with Malcolm Lambert in second . Group B was won by Malc Lewis, the current title holder, with Geoff Ball as runner up. Semi finals saw Malcolm Cummings take his place in the final by beating Geoff in straight sets and Malc Lewis made his way to the final by beating Malcolm Lambert also in straight sets. The final was won by Malcolm Cummings 11/6, 5/11, 11/7, 11/9.

Men’s Singles
The title this year was blown wide open as last year's title holder Sean Drewry was sadly unavailable to play. 24 players started in 8 groups. Some of the last 16 matches were very close with Tim Baker beating Andy Patterson in the fifth end 7/11, 11/3, 11/8, 4/11, 13/11. Ken Mitchell, Julian Brericliffe and Chris Holland all made it through to the quarter finals after beating their opponents in four ends. John Shooter and Malcolm Cummings came through to the semi’s in straight sets while Scott Lewis and Chris Holland had tighter matches winning in four ends. Semi final between Scott Lewis and John Shooter was a win for Scott 10/11, 14/12, 11/6, 11/1. Chris Holland had a real battle with Malcolm Cummings for his place in the final, losing the first two ends 9/11, 7/11, but regrouped to win the next three 11/6/ 11/8, 13/11, and take the match. The final was a straight sets win for Scott Lewis 11/6, 11/3, 11/8 against Holland - some amazing rallies were witnessed by the watching crowd and the score doesn’t reflect the quality of play during this match. Congratulations to Scott on winning his first Men’s Singles Title.
