How to follow the day one World Cup action

England’s women will be first into the fray as the long-awaited ITTF Team World Cup kicks off in London on Thursday.

Their opponents will be Hong Kong, the top seeds in Group C, in the first session, which starts at 10am at the Copper Box Arena.

England will be hoping the venue lives up to its reputation as the Box That Rocks from London 2012 as they aim to shock the overall third seeds.

Hundreds of local schoolchildren will be among the spectators thanks to a special ticket offer – part of building a legacy from the event by inspiring future generations. As well as England, they will get the chance to see China and Japan, among others.

England men will start their campaign at around 7pm, with their first match against Japan.

The action will be shown live on the BBC website and BBC Sport app – click here to watch
