Your chance to shape the sport’s future!

If you have bags of expertise and experience in table tennis, then we would like you to help shape the sport’s future!

The deadline has been extended for applications to the new Members Advisory Group (MAG) which is being set up to ensure a more collaborative and connected approach between Table Tennis England and its members and to allow members to check and challenge what we do.

A number of applications have been received but we are keen to get as large and diverse a range of applicants as possible before the deadline of Friday November 23rd.

An independent panel will carry out interviews and appoint up to 12 people representing all areas of our sport as follows:

  • Players
  • Coaches
  • Technical officials
  • Clubs
  • Leagues & Counties
  • Schools
  • Competitions

MAG will meet two to four times a year and provide strategic advice to the Board of Table Tennis England, reflecting the views of the table tennis community.

All members of MAG will need to demonstrate that they can think creatively in a forward-looking way about the future of table tennis and to work constructively as part of a team.

Any member of Table Tennis England – apart from Board members and staff – can apply to the independent panel which will interview and appoint the members.

It is hoped the MAG will truly reflect the diverse nature of table tennis, therefore applications are encouraged from everyone, regardless of race, gender, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation or age.

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants are asked to submit their CV and a letter stating which role(s) they are applying for and why they think they can make an effective contribution to the work of MAG. This should be submitted by email to hr@tabletennisengland.co.uk putting Members Advisory Group in the subject box. The closing date for applications is  November 23rd, 2018. Interviews should be undertaken by early December 2018.

Role descriptions and MAG’s Terms of Reference have been published and can be downloaded below. The appointments are for an initial period of two to three years.

THE APPOINTMENT PANEL

The appointment panel comprises nine members as follows: Steve Burge, Peter Charters, Charlie Childs, Graham Frankel, David Hockney, Gail Johns, Jos Kelly, Gary Whyman and Caroline Williams.

Administrative support for the application process is being provided by Head Office at Table Tennis England and all applications will be passed straight to the appointment panel.

THE GOVERNANCE REVIEW
