New club facilities are 'open for business'

APRIL 26th - The current phase of club refurbishment is now complete - a wall has been relocated and the social area has been extended by providing wide access to the meeting room area and by installing new viewing windows, the old kitchen fittings have been removed and replaced by a spacious new kitchen with fridge, water heater and additional cabinet space.

Kingfisher President Peter Charters invited Allen Pack, our Buildings & Equipment Manager, to 'cut the ribbon' and formally open the new facility.   , to,

Since January, Allen spent much of his free time submitting plans and negotiating with landlords, local authorities, funding providers and contractors in order to develop the club's facilities.  With support from the ETTA and a Sport England grant, everything fell into place in early March.  Since then, Allen has 'led from the front' by relocating the furniture, project managing the building contractors, installing most of the electrics, organising working parties, painting the walls, laying the carpets and, with Andy Yon's assistance, finishing all the small jobs that have been required. Kingfisher President Peter
