Monday night brought completion of the first half of the season with the traditional Xmas Kennon Trophy Handicap finals at Trimpell Social Club. The Kennon Plate final for Championship teams resulted in a thrilling 5-4 win for Morecambe A (Adam Dennison, Joe Dennison and Thomas Barrett) over St Lukes D (Arran Fearnley, Keith Roberston and Stephen Mowbray). With the match score 4-4 the final encounter saw Adam Dennison edge out Arran Fearnley in a tense encounter.
The Kennon Trophy final for Premier teams saw Trimpell Raptors (Paul Stebbing, Toby Ellis and Dave Gott) retain the trophy with a 5-1 win over St Lukes (Dennis Hooley, Tony March and Matt Price). St Lukes looked to be getting off to a good start with Tony March pushing Paul Stebbing all the way just coming up short in the latter end of the deciding game. Next up saw Dennis Hooley level the match for St Lukes continuing his 100% winning record over Dave Gott. Any suggestion of an upset was quashed as Toby Ellis steadied the ship with his usual reliable performance and despite odd game losses Raptors took control of the match.
League President Dave Hughes presented the trophies.
