2018-19 Annual Tournament Report
England juniors impress

The annual league tournament at MCHS proved a showcase for the local England ranked juniors Toby & Bethany Ellis, Adam and Joe Dennison who went head to head and prevailed against the top local seniors including the University world select.

In the blue riband singles events, Toby and Bethany Ellis became the youngest ever players to win the Premier and Championship Singles with wins over the talented University player Matthew George and Jerzy Sydlowski respectively.

Matthew George then teamed up with his University partner Daniel Clarke to secure the Premier Doubles with a win over local favourites Paul Stebbing and Toby Ellis before Paul Stebbing secured the Handicap Singles title with a win over team mate Toby Ellis.

Adam Dennison and brother Joe were both in exceptional form with Adam seeing off several season campaigners to win the Premier Challenge event. Likewise the improving Morecambe player Jack Edwards won the Championship Singles Plate against University player Emre Ceyhan and then teamed up with team mate Ethan Packard to secure the Championship Doubles against University’s Ashley Knott and Emre Ceyhan.
