Leamington’s Cadet A side, playing in the Heart of England Cadet League in Warwick, had a highly successful day winning all of their 3 matches. They defeated Hamstead 8-2 with Timmy Cooper unbeaten and Lee Dorning and Adam Cofler both recording two wins. They then whitewashed Leamington B 10-0 when Sam Weaving replaced Cofler and ended the day by eclipsing Rugby B 9-1, Cooper and Weaving 3, Cofler 2.

The B team lost to Evesham 2-8, Kit Turner taking the town’s points but tasted victory against Colebridge 7-3, Turner 3, Tom Harris 2 and Joe Hunt 1. Turner and Harris won the doubles.

In the League, County Council B stormed to an 8-2 Division 1 win over Colebridge B with Nilton Green and Simon Griew notching hat-tricks. Murray Stevenson chipped in with 1 and Green and Griew took the doubles. Vikas Bakshi and Mike Rinnhofer replied. St. Georges A saw off Potters Green 7-3 with seasonal debutant Tristan Gretton the star man with 3 wins and a share of the doubles with Damon Fenton. Fenton won 2 and Earl Sweeney added 1. Ryan Stockham won twice for the Coventry side and Aaron Riley once.

Free Church B gave their promotion cause a boost in Division 2 when taking 8 points off struggling Eathorpe A. Michael Ho recorded a treble and Jeff Harris and Hugh Matthews won twice as well as combining for the doubles. Young George Allison had two excellent wins in response. St. Georges E overcame relegation rivals Free Church C 7-3 with Richard Grover and Jack Shardlow in unbeatable form. Tracey Fletcher added one. Solomon Hayes and Anthony Smith had a win apiece and teamed to snatch the doubles. F C C did slightly better against Whitnash A going down 6-4, thanks mainly to Solomon Hayes’ excellent maximum.  Anthony Smith also took a single with Paul Riman 2, Dennis Woodhead 2 and Richard Smith 1 plus the doubles ensuring victory for Whitnash. Whitnash A also edged Nomads A 6-4 with Riman, Smith and Woodhead all winning twice. Ian Beasley 2, Tony Thomas 1 and a Beasley/ Thomas doubles win took the match to the wire.

In Division 3 Free Church G left relegation worries behind them when trouncing bottom side Free Church F 9-1. Their two Sams, Weaving and Wiggins, secured maximums and the doubles, with Dudley Turner taking 2. Lleryn Gardner avoided the whitewash.

In Division 4 Free Church K are an improving side. They fell 2-8 to top team, Free Church J, Olivia Fletcher and Jack Green posting good singles’ wins. Adam Cofler 3, Tom Harris 2 and Adam Pulman 2 plus a doubles win from Cofler and Roger Palmer saw J home but K built on this performance to draw with County Council D. Green  and Chris Soe notched braces and Fletcher a single. Mark Bridgeman won his three for Council with Carl Morgan getting a victory. William Hung joined Bridgeman for the doubles.

The Spring competition has started in the 2-a-side League. In Division B promoted FC P met one of the stronger teams in FC N and fell 1-4. Daniel Shaw posted P’s win but James Robertson’s double andTom Fletcher’s single, plus their doubles victory ensured N will challenge for promotion.

  The experience of Eathorpe F’s John Gymer proved too much for promoted FC T, his two singles and a doubles win with Norbu Sunang-Joret proving decisive. However, Leyna Stanton and Alice Todd did well to win one each on their Division C debuts. FC Q edged relegated FC O 3-2 with Katie Singleton notching an excellent pair of wins. Oscar Dalrymple took one with Ashley Knott taking a single for O before teaming up with James Wilson to prize the doubles.

In Division D FC W defeated their V team 4-1 with Daniel Strand in impressive form winning his 2 and securing the doubles with Elaine Bradley who also won once. Matthew Hayes took the consolation point.
