How would the SLAPPERS cope with the avenging FANTASTIC FIVE and their super powers? It proved to be an epic battle! Number one Slapper, Ryan Mitchell was back in fine form this evening with a thrilling victory over Ben Applewhite by 11-5, 11-9, 6-11, 8-11 and the decider by 11-9! Slapper captain Clive Mitchell took out James and Lewis Mcfarlane but found Ben too hot to handle in a 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 5-11 win for Ben. Andrew Flynn eased home against Lewis but found Ben’s and James too hard to cope with. The ageless Terry Colam was too cunning however for Colin ,winning in four games. Top Delic , Derek Wood eased comfortably home to win all his singles and the doubles too. I was delighted to notice a very accomplished performance by Adrian Haigh, again in a five game spectacular against Paul. Two wins for Terry and one from Bob were not enough to stop the Psycho team recording yet another win by 7-3.

ASSASSINS encountered the emerging talents of the MISFITS, Chloe McCauley, Louise hart and Lex Robinson, all part of the future of table tennis in Lincoln and learning fast in their first season in the league. Chloe has a skilful , penholder style attack, Louise a magnificent backhand and Lex some of the best footwork that I have seen in a young player and was a great team captain too. Determination to learn will take these players far in future seasons. Best of their performances was by Louise in taking the talents Assassin , Mike Willis to a 11-3, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9 win by Mike. Despite all their efforts however the Assassins proved too strong in a 10-0 win, that was closer than the score line suggests.
