The match result was 8-2 to the ever improving Keal Madrid machine.

Adrian Haigh had a very distinguished win beating Dan Brown by 9-11, 12-10, 8-11, 12-10, 11-9. Two singles wins each for Bill Holmes and Daren Thorpe plus one for Dan ,meant that the doubles was a real decider .It went the way of the C’s in a 12-10, 7-11, 11-7, 1-11, 11-5 win by Bill and Dan over Derek and Colin Walters. Result a 6-4 win for the C’s.

The maestro Andy Wignall was in imperious form easing to comfortable wins in all his matches and taking the Olympians to a 7-3 win and back to the top of the table.
DIVSION TWO WEEK 19
Title chasing RUSTON’S B met the ever improving MISFITS. First match on the table was probably the best of the night with Misfit captain Nick Robinson gaining an excellent win over home captain John Bowman by 1-11, 11-5, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8. Three wins each for David Barber ,in great form and the Devilish skills of Dick Peacock plus two for John saw the Ruston’s team maintain their title challenge despite a fabulous doubles win for the father and son, Nick and Lex Robinson in four. The result was a 8-2 win for Ruston’s.
ASSASSINS minus star player Magic Mike Willis (off with a bad back) played the E TEAM .Ian Minogue for the E’s showed up well and has made exciting progress this season and took Andy Smith close. Iain Hicklin is a tough competitor too and took David Arnold to a four game match up but the end result was a 7-3 win for the two men on the night, team of Assassins.
CRUSADERS D had a visit from the IMPS (playing a player short).David Brown was the top Imp in a magnificent match with Mark Nolan only going down at the death by 8-11, 6-11, 11-6, 11-8, 12-10 and he took Kapul Sanghi close too in a four game thriller. Sally Riggall shows real promise after her diligent work in coaching corner and I am sure that her results will soon begin to show it. The match result a 10-0 win for the D’s.
ST PETERS B team had a derby clash with their C TEAM. Peter Eccles played valiantly going down in four games to each of David Ranshaw and Bob Dorrian as too did Peter Robson. That man of all properties , Peter Banks swept up all before him in comfortable straight set wins and the result was a 10-0 win for the St Peter’s B team. I am sure that if they had not dropped so far behind in fixtures because of foreign travel, that the St Peter’s team would have challenged for the title.
