TABLE TENNIS RACKET COVERINGS
Questions have recently been asked about whether table tennis bats and rubbers used by some players in the LDTTL are “legal”. The ITTF and Table Tennis England laws regarding this subject are very clear;
The LDTTL 2017-18 season is due to start on Monday 11th September 2017. The fixture list, scorebooks/cards and other information will be circulated at the Handbook meeting which is due to take place at Wavertree Labour TTC at 7:30pm on Thursday 24th August 2017.
It is with regret that I must inform you of the death of Ken Black who passed away on Thursday 13th July 201 following a serious illness.
Ken is the father of Graeme Black who still plays for CADWA and sister Julie a former Closed Ladies singles, doubles and junior champion.
It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of Eric Young. Eric was 92 years of age and had played table tennis in the Liverpool league with Harold House, Aigburth Peoples Hall and Merseyside Police. He stopped playing about five years ago.
Prior to the start of the 2016-17 season all members of Table Tennis England were covered by Public Liability Insurance. This insurance covered Local Leagues, Committee members and club members if they were sued for negligence arising out of an official tables tennis match.
League clubs/teams are reminded that their completed match cards can be sent by email or text or post to the Fixture Secretary Tony Dixon. The fixture Secretary must still receive the completed score cards within seven days of the match.
