In Paperstation Malvern League Division 1 Broadheath Belters continued their late title challenge with a 7-3 victory against Manor Park Pumas thanks to maximums from Brett Brinning without dropping a set and Ben Bennett. They also combined to take the doubles against Geoff Woodward and Dave Hallam with the 3rd set being won 24-22 , a record points aggregate for the season. Geoff ,Dave and Jon Dyke claimed 1 win each for Pumas. Pumas then eased their relegation fears with an 8-2 win against already relegated Crackpots E thanks to 3 wins from Jon supported by 2 wins each for Dave Hallam and Dave Knowles. Colin Dolding won 2 for Crackpots but lost the doubles with Dave Steen against Dave Hallam and Jon Dyke.
In Division 2 Manor Park Rangers strengthened their bid for the runners up position with a 7-3 victory against an undermanned Nomads for whom Dave Hayes was in superb form winning all his 3 games. However, Richard Cullis, Laurence Dodd and Nick Haggar all won a singles match and Laurence and Nick combined to take the doubles in 5 sets against Dave and Adrian Fray.
In the Handicap Secondary Semi Final 1st Division Ledbury Lions dragged back a 170 point deficit to overcome the stubborn challenge of 3rd Division youngsters Tornados by 20 points ,444-424(170). 39 of the 40 sets were won by Lions so particular credit should go to Ethan Webb who took the final set 13-11 against Richard Smith and Dominic Weston who only lost the 2nd set to Richard 15-13.
