We are approximately a third of the way through the current season in the Paperstation Malvern Table Tennis League, so time for a review of the league so far.
In division 1, Bromyard Collection lead the way with 5 wins out of 5, but Daredevils and Wanderers are in hot pursuit. These three have opened up a gap over the other teams who are tightly bunched. Express and Pioneers are the draw specialists, with half their matches ending that way. Pioneers and Lions remain winless. Individually Chris Hewitt and Joe Higgs are unbeaten with six players experiencing a single defeat.
In division 2 Dynamos and Devils are top but Pumas could go 5 points clear by winning their game in hand. Longshots are also in the mix, whilst the bottom six are separated by a single win. Nick Price and Matt White are unbeaten, although the latter has only played one match. Colin Dolding’s only defeat was to Nick in a very tight match.
In division 3 Malvern U3A top the table, 3 points ahead of Crackpots D, with Poolbrook Juniors Plus leading the chasing pack. Mike Jones is the only player to have played more than once and be unbeaten, although four players have lost just once. Special mention to cadet Thea Snee, who recenty gained her first ever league victory.
