The Yuletide cup is a unique event in table tennis and is sometimes referred to the Wrong Bat competition as the players play with bats provided by the tournament organiser and these bats range from having Tyres, wallpaper, laminate, plastic, armbands etc… and makes for a fun tournament and an enjoyable night.

In the group stages each player plays each other 2 games to 21 swapping bats after the 1st game, and every point counts.

Andy Bunting won Group A, runner up Jim Westwood, Andy King won Group B, runner up Roy Drew.

In the Semi-Finals Andy Bunting beat Roy Drew 2-0 ( 11-3, 11-4) , and in the other match Jim Westwood beat Andy King 2-0 ( 11-7, 11-8 )

The Final was great match with long rallies,  Jim took the 1st game 11-8, but once the bats were swapped over Andy levelled the match winning the 2nd 11-6. In the deciding leg Jim went 5-2 up, but at this point once again they had to change bats, this was the difference has Andy then powered through to take the title winning the deciding leg 11-8.

Although it was a free week in the league this week, a rearranged match in division 2 was played between Boothys & Ravenshead Angels. Man of the Match Bob Angus for Boothys inflicted the first defeat of the season on Lisa Lewis on his way to a maximum for Boothy's against Ravenshead Angels.
