Division 2

1. Ravenshead Rhinos drew Ravenshead Angels    – 5-5  -  P.O.M – Adrian Smith

2. Zygabyte Old Bats bt Ravenshead Rhinos – 6-4  -  P.O.M – Rob Vaughan

Zygabyte Old Bats beat Ravenshead Rhinos 6-4  in the title decider on Thursday night and take the Division Two title. The Old Bats who last year didn’t win a game and game bottom and only ended the season with 2 players, recruited well bringing in Nigel Stent who took over as captain, Rob Vaughan, Ralph Rodda & Matt Williams who Joined the founders Glynn Payne & Andy Hughes and were transformed into title winners.

An unbeaten second half of the season made all the difference, in their 1st 8 games  they W:5 D:1 L:2 and scored 44 points and sat in third place. However with 8 wins in the second half and amassing 64 points they won the title by 7 points.

In the title decider Rob Vaughan won player-of-t he-match in this very tight match with himself and Matt Williams for the Old  Bats and Steve Scott and Richard Robinson for the Rhinos all winning 2 games each .

Zygabyte Old Bats

Old Bats have now played all their games this season finishing on 73 pts ( W:6, D:2, L:8 )

Nigel Stent has been their star man with a 95.24% win rate and 5 POM’s, followed by

Rob Vaughan with 83.33% and 5 POM’s,

Matt Williams finished on 83.33% and 3 POM,

Ralph Rodda on 50.00% and 1 POM,

Glyn Payne on 40.00%. and

Andy Hughes 11.11%9

Rhinos have now played all their games this season finishing on 98 pts ( W:9, D:4, L:3 )

Steve Scott has been their star man with a 91.11% win rate and 11 POM’s, followed by

Richard Robinson finished on 63.89% and 1 POM,

Graham Smith on 52.78% and 1 POM and

Russ Harrison on 22.22%. 

The Rhinos played the Angels a re-scheduled fixture from January and the result was 5-5.

Adrian Smith for the Angels got player-of-the-match winning all his games, Steve Scott for the Rhinos and Lisa Lewis for the Angels both won 2.

This now sets up the final match of the season when Rhino play Old Bats on Thursday they are 8 points behind the Old Bats so they can still win the league but it would mean a 10-0 victory to do so.

They are also 7 pts behind 2nd place

Angels have now played all their games this season finishing on 73 pts ( W:5, D:3, L:8 )

Lisa Lewis has been their star player with a 93.33% win rate and 7 POM’s, followed by 

Adrian Smith with 69.44% and 3 POM’s, 

Maggie Burrows finished on 22.22%,

Anne Lindley on 12.12% and 

Brian Hall on 0.00%.

Shippam Cup Semi-Finals

Both semi-finals were played tonight at Ravenshead Leisure Centre and Zygabyte A & New Cross Snipers both we victorious and will meet in the Final.

In the clash of the Division 1 Sides Zygabyte A gave Ravenshead Riots 100 handicap where there is 9 matches of 2 games to 21 and every point counts. Zygabyte A won every Match apart from John Watson beating Bob Hume 42-26 on aggregate but with a final score of 366-233 adding the 100 handicap final score 366-333 - Zygabyte A winning by 33 points

In the Clash of the Division 2 Sides NewCross Snipers gave Ravenshead Rebels 24 start and in a close encounter where 5 agg games were won by the Snipers and 4 agg games were won by the Rebels the Final score was 337-298 to the Snipers, then with the handicap applied 337-322, Just 15 Pts in it and a very close match on the night.

Zygabyte A ( Joe Zygadlo, Dean Brookes and Bob Hume ) will meet the NewCross Snipers ( Ben Swain, Tony Swain & Dean Marsh ) week commencing 13th April to play out the Final.
