MATCH WEEK 6 Results

Division 1


1.       Jacksdale A beat Terminetters  7-3 – Kalpesh Bhatt

2.       Snipers A beat Zygabyte B – 6-4 - P.O.M – Jim Westwood

3.       Jacksdale B beat Rangers  – 7-3 – P.O.M – Simon Chatterton

4.       Jacksdale A vs Zygabyte A - Postponed

Jacksdale B took advantage of Royals free week and Jacksdale A & Zygabyte A match postponed to go top of the Division 1, with a great win over Ravenshead Rangers 7-3. Although Simon Chatterton of the Ranger was awarded POM with his 2 wins he couldn’t stop Jacksdale B with only Bill Ainsworth beating Russ Stevens for the other point.

All 3 Jacksdale B player contributed with 2 wins a piece and Glen Holme & Russ Stevens tied the night up with a 3-2 victory in the doubles.

Snipers A won their first ever Mansfield Division 1 match in their 4th time of trying beating Zygabyte B 6-4. Jim Westwood was inspired for the Snipers winning all his games 3-0 and partnered Tony Swain in the Doubles victory also, Tony & Ben Swain also won 1 beating Glyn Payne in 2 very tight games.

Game of the night was between Glyn Payne playing up from Spin Doctors and Tony Swain, the first 4 games were shared with every game going to 10-10. Tony finally took the decider 11-7 in a fantastic match. Tony won (16-14, 10-12, 11-13, 12-10, 11-7)

Jacksdale A remained unbeaten with a 7-3 victory over the Terminetters, both Kalpesh Bhatt & Russ Webster won all their singles and combined in a doubles victory. The Terminetters of Adrian Smith, Glen Cutmore and Lisa Lewis all recorded a win over Jacksdales Captain Paul Linfield.

Division 2

1.       Rhinos beat Marksmen B – 9-1 - P.O.M – Richard Robinson

2.       Hucknall 50+ beat Marksmen A – 7-3 - P.O.M – Andy King

3.       Jacksdale C beat Rebels – 8-2 – P.O.M – Hari Rampall

4.    Ravensdale beat Snipers B  – 6-4 – P.O.M – Stuart Chadwick

Richard Robinson once again guided his Rhinos to their 4th successive win and remain unbeaten for the season storming ahead at the top of Division 2. Richard winning his 3rd POM won all his games along with Steve Scott both players on 80% win rate for the season.

The only win for Marksmen B was Richard Cain beating Graham Smith.

Match of the night was between the 2 Steve’s ( Oravecz & Scott ), Steve Scott winning the first 12-10, then losing the next 2 and then came back and won the final 2 12-10 also. Oravecz will be disappointed to be so close a seasoned player in his first season and losing all 3 12-10.

Hucknall 50+ kept up the pressure on the Rhinos beating Marksmen A 7-3, with Andy King (POM) wining al his matches. Roy Drew also won 2 and joined Andy in a doubles victory with John Banner winning 1.

Mark Sansom for Marksmen won 2 and only lost 11-7 to Andy King in the 5th in the first game of the night. Phil Parkin beat John Banner for Marksmen’s 3rd point.

Marksmen A will be disappointed but they are still in 3rd just 6 points off Hucknall with a game in hand, but this was their first defeat of the season.

Youngster Hari Rampall won POM as he helped his team sweep aside the Rebels 8-2, this was Jacksdales first win of the season and Angela Brettell also won all her games and John Smith 2. Only resistance from the rebels came from Laurence Taylor who beat John Smith, and then Val Tully & Fionna Ridgewell combined in a 3-2 doubles victory.

A tight game between Ravensdale and Snipers of St. Joseph's B resulted in a 6-4 win for the home team. Player of the Match Stuart Chadwick achieved a maximum with his colleagues Bob Angus and Rod Sampson winning 3 games between them. Rob Vaughan won 2 of his matches for Snipers and teamed up with Nigel Stent in the doubles to ensure the match finished very close.

Match of the night was between Bob and Ralph Rodda which went to 5 games, Bob winning the last two 11-9.
