Time to nominate your unsung heroes!

Do you know someone in your club, league, county, or region who gives up their spare time to help positively impact people’s lives through table tennis and has had a significant impact over the past season or for a number of years?

You may know an official or coach who has gone above and beyond their job role to ensure others have positive table tennis experiences, or do you know a special story that people near to hear about?

Or maybe your club or league have taken huge strides this season and are deserving of recognition?

Perhaps your club works with a partner who has aided you to make a real difference in your community, or helped you attract more members?

Whether you know a person who has dedicated a number of years to the sport, or someone who has had significant of their impact over the past season, we want to hear from you!

It’s time to nominate your heroes for a Pride of Table Tennis Award.

The Pride of Table Tennis Awards aim to recognise and reward volunteers at local, regional and national level and last year saw dozens of volunteers across the country receive recognition for their dedication and commitment to the sport.

Lee Monk, Development and Volunteering Officer at Table Tennis England said:

Volunteers are absolutely essential to the growth and development of table tennis, and the Pride of Table Tennis Awards are an excellent way to recognise and reward the achievements of so many unsung heroes across the country who ensure others can continue to access great table tennis experiences.

This year, we have a new category, League of the Year and will also be recognising Clubs at both regional and national level in the Club of the Year category.

How it works

You can nominate your chosen candidate for a number of categories.

Local Awards

Club / League Volunteer of the Year:

We will send you a Pride of Table Tennis Awards Certificate to present your Club or League Volunteer of the Year. Your nomination will then be put forward for a regional award or a national award in the most appropriate category, eg Coach of the Year if a volunteer coach.

Regional Awards

Regional award categories are Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Contribution to Table Tennis, Coach of the Year and new this year, Club of the Year.

Selected by a regional judging panel, winners will receive a trophy and certificate which will be presented at a suitable event in your region. Winners will then be put forward to the national judging panel for a chance to be shortlisted for our National Pride of Table Tennis Awards in March 2019.

National Awards

National award categories are all of the regional award categories above plus Inclusivity Award, Technical Official of the Year, Ping! Personality of the Year, Partner of the Year, Inspirational Stories of the Year and, new this season, League of the Year.

Nominations for this category will go directly to the national judging panel who will select shortlisted candidates for our prestigious National Pride of Table Tennis Awards ceremony, which will be held in March 2019 (date TBC).

Please note, if the person or organisation you are nominating has won a category previously within the Table Tennis England Volunteer Awards or Pride of Table Tennis Awards, the following rules will apply:
