A close match at Blue Bell Hill Village Hall was settled in Boxley's favour coutesy of a 5 leg Doubles victory. A fortunate treble for Barry Roles who beat Aubrey Maryott and Dick Ellis by the narrowness of margins and a brace for debutant Mick Sheppard over the same 2 players got Boxley the 6 points. Sheppard fought back after losing his first game of the evening to Greg Sammy and Sammy also beat Derek Myers as did Maryott and Ellis who who staged a determined comeback from 2 legs down.
