Luton Invicta 4 must have feared another defeat as they lost the first 3 games to visitors Anchs 4. However,they turned the match round winning 6 of the last 7 games to claim their 3rd win of the season. This was a closely fought match with every player getting at least one win for their efforts. Mick Forrester and Keith Ball won twice for Luton and Tony Boarer got a crucial single win in the 8th game of the evening coming back from 2 legs down to defeat Aubrey Maryott. The latter had a busy evening as all his games went the distance (including the Doubles) but only managing to taste victory against Forrester. Dick Ellis claimed his first Player of the Match award of the season for his 2 victories against Boarer and Ball.
