Upnor C had just two players available for their trip to promotion contenders Luton Invicta III, Shahab Raza claiming his teams only points for wins against Steve Reeves and Mick Barber. Dennis McConkey was man of the match, unbeaten in singles and doubles as Colin Hutchins' efforts went unrewarded. The doubles proved a fitting climax to the evening, the hosts edging home 11-9 in the fifth leg
