With a 9-1 victory over Beaumont Accountancy Nomads in last week’s fixtures, Swerve C have taken the top spot in the First Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League.

A 10-0 victory for Ormesby F puts them at the top of Division 2 of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League with 45 points from six matches, after they defeated the bottom of the League team Ormesby I.

Steven Burge led the Nunthorpe revival with a win against Baines by 45-42 Dave Williams then beat Sharples 42-28 and then the score poised at 4 all Eileen Robinson beat Pearson by 46-42 to take Nunthorpe through to the next round.

With two substantial wins Ormesby A have moved to the top of the first division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League having beaten Swerve C by 7-3 and Swerve B 10-0.

Keith Lewis and Michael McMahon both scored one win for Ormesby defeating Stephen Tuck, who won one for Swerve. The closest match was the Doubles when Tuck and Mahmood beat Lewis and McMahon at 11-8 in the decider.

Swerve lead the table with 16 points from two matches whilst Ormesby F are in second place with 15 points.

The opening fixtures for the new season was played in the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League last weekend producing some unexpected results.

The all Junior Ormesby K team clinched the Middlesbrough & District Table Tennis League Handicap Cup competition last week when they defeated East Cleveland in the final 5-1.

Beaumont Accountancy Nomads B have secured the place at the top of the lower half of Division 1 in the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League by playing a 5-5 draw with Nunthorpe A in last week’s fixtures.
