In a match between two of the strongest prospects for the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League title, Swerve B defeated Beaumont Nomads A 7-3 in last week’s fixtures.

The star of the match was Anthony Phoenix for Nomads who defeated Andy Wilson, Jevon Chan, and Mark Simon.  The closest match was with Mark Simon where Phoenix won 11-9 in the decider.

For Swerve Wilson, Chan and Simon all won 2 sets each with the closest win for Simon against Mark Walpole with 11-9 in the fifth.

Ormesby B made further progress by defeating Swerve C 9-1.  Carl Shaw and Michael Young both scored hat tricks, whilst Holly Williams won the one for Swerve, beating Gary Whyman 15-13 in the decider.

Ormesby A dropped points in their visit to East Cleveland B winning 7-3, with hat tricks from Peter Wilkinson and David Gofton.

Ormesby C won 9-1 against Beaumont Nomads B with hat tricks from Kieran Wardell and George Hill. Jack Dewar won 2 after losing to Barry Pearson.
