Swerve D are the front runners in the 2nd Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League having won all three of their opening fixture. This week Swerve D scored an 8-2 victory over Ormesby F with hat ticks from Peter Philips and Kashif Mahmood. The match was closer than the score line suggests with five of the 10 sets needing the deciding game. Only three sets being won in straight games.

Keith Lewis and Michael McMahon both scored one win for Ormesby defeating Stephen Tuck, who won one for Swerve. The closest match was the Doubles when Tuck and Mahmood beat Lewis and McMahon at 11-8 in the decider.

The Ormesby J - Wheelers team beat Ormesby I 6 - 4 with both Brian Holloway and Noel Thomas winning two games each and Mark Bonnar one. Ormesby I's Dave Shearer and Nigel Green won two games each. Noel Thomas and Marc Bonnar teamed up to win the Doubles for the Wheelers.

Swerve D lead the table with 24 .points from their three matches whilst in second place are Ormesby Wheelers who have 18 points having won two of their three matches and drawn one.

The team in third place Beaumont Accountancy Nomads D won their fixture last week with a 7-3 victory against East Cleveland. Geffrey Howe and Malcolm Noble both scored hat tricks for Nomads whilst Albert Wilson and Noel Clerkin replied for East Cleveland. This match also had a number of close games which included a win for Clerkin against Bruce Lowther at 11-9 in the decider.

In fourth pace are Ormesby F, a good start was halted by a defeat to Swerve D whilst Ormesby E in fifth place scored a 6-4 victory over Swerve E with two wins each for Reem Rassem and Eve Witterick, whilst Issy Doyle won one. The star of this match was Anwar Rasoul who scored a hat trick for Swerve.
