Ormesby K defeated Beaumont Accountancy Nomads A in the second round of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League Annual Handicap Knock-out Cup Competition. 

For Ormesby Jonah Hathaway won both of his sets by beating Mark Walpole and Stephen Baines.  Eve Witterick followed suit with wins against Mark Walpole and Craig Dring, whilst Ryan Davis played his part by beating Craig Dring in the 5-1 victory. 

Beaumont’s only win was when Baines defeated Davis. 

Beaumont came into their own when their own B team entertained Ormesby B and won by 5-3, with a hat trick from Kevin Lindsey. 

Robert Evans defeated Gary Whyman whilst Ian Plumber beat Karl Shaw.  For Ormesby, Michael Young and Shaw both beat Evans and Whyman defeated Plumber. 

Ormesby A remain in the competition after a 5-3 win against Ormesby I where David Gofton scored a hat trick for the A team and Peter Wilkinson won 2. 

Nunthorpe A secured their place in the next round with a 5-3 win against Ormesby G, Phil Webster and David Williams both scored 2 wins for Nunthorpe.
