Swerve B’s chances of closing the gap at the top of Division 1 of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League took a knock last week, when they were defeated by the Ormesby C team by 6-4.

Andy Wilson was the star of the match scoring a hat trick for Swerve and winning the Doubles with Alex Garlick, but that was all that Swerve was able to take from this match.

George Hill, Jack Dewar and Will Dobinson all won 2 each with victories over Garlick and Angus Poole.  The closest match was Wilson’s victory over Dobinson at 12-10 in the decider.

In 3rd place Ormesby B kept their interest in the honours race intact when they defeated Ormesby A 7-3 despite a hat trick from David Gofton.  Carl White, Lewis Cadden and Gary Whyman all won 2 each.  Swerve A are now clear at the top of the First Division with 5 points ahead with a match in hand.
