Nunthorpe C produced a spectacular win in the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League Annual         Knock Out Cup Competition last week when they defeated the First Division league leaders Ormesby A by 5-4  in a very tight match.

For Nunthorpe C Tony Montague and John Goulding won two each whilst Glyn Robinson won one.  Victory     was clinched for Nunthorpe when Montague overcame  Jack Cope taking full advantage of the handicap to     win by 47 points to 42.  For Ormesby A, Jack Cope produced the best performance winning two of his sets        whilst David Gofton and Thomas Rayner won one each. 

Another tight match saw the Ormesby G team, scoring a very narrow victory over Nunthorpe A when Mike     Newton took advantage of his handicap to beat Eileen Robinson by 42 points to 41 in the final set of this        match.

Phil Webster and David Williams won two each for Nunthorpe whilst Alan Fowler and Bob Wasson won two    each for Ormesby G with Mike Newton winning the decider.
