Leaders Ormesby F and third placed Beaumont Accountancy Nomads D both lost points in their bid to win honours in the 2nd Division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League.

In last weeks’ fixtures Ormesby F who are top of the table defeated Swerve E by 8-2, with a hat trick from Chris Gunn.  Anwar Rasoul clinched both of Swerve’s victories by beating John McCullow 11-9 in the decider and Keith Lewis by 3-1.  McCullow and Lewis won two each for Ormesby and combined to win the doubles.

Third placed Nomads D played a 5-5 draw with the team in 4th place Ormesby E.  Peter Docherty produced the best results for Nomads D scoring a hat trick whilst Issy Doyle did well for Ormesby to beat Sam Hugill and Bruce Lowther.  Jonah Hannaway and Eve Witterick won one each for Ormesby whilst Doyle and Witterick combined to win the doubles.

These results improve the chances of 2nd placed East Cleveland who are now just 6 points behind Ormesby F with a match in hand.  Nomads D are also 6 points behind but level on matches with Ormesby.
