With two wins each from Noel Clerkin, Albert Wilson and Huw Williams East Cleveland clinched the second division title of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League with a 6-4 victory over Ormesby F. 

Huw Williams was the most prominent of the East Cleveland players beating Chris Gunn and John McCullow in straight games.  Noel Clerkin won his two matches both by 3 games to 1 whilst Albert Wilson was unlucky not to score a hat-trick losing to Chris Gunn at 11-9 in the decider. 

For Ormesby Chris Gunn was the best player on show with a win against Noel Clerkin as well as Albert Wilson.  

The team in second place in the division Swerve D completed their fixtures with a 6-4 victory against Beaumont Nomads D. Kashif Mahmood and Angus Poole both won two whilst Peter Philips won 1 of his sets. For Nomads Malcolm Noble was the best player winning 2. 

These results mean that East Cleveland win the league with 139 points from 18 whilst Swerve D is just above Ormesby F with 129 points against Ormesby 128.
