WEEK 7 REPORT
Ashford Hill Ramblers are closing in on leaders Woolton Hill Eagles and are now just two points behind with two games in hand
Ramblers did drop one point to Thatcham Colts when they beat them 7-3 Sam Ricks and John Goodyer were both unbeaten for Ramblers and also won the doubles together.
Eagles in the meantime had a battle with Thatcham Nomads which ended up all square. Antony Baker had a hat rick for Eagles including a final 12-10 win over Alan Duke to force the draw. Nat Richardson won twice for Nomads.
Thatcham A had a tough match against Kintbury Jog which ended 6-4 to Thatcham Richard Rosinski had a fine treble for the Thatcham side and John Golding won two.Peter Sinyard was Jogs best with a double.
Thatcham Thunder had a big win at AWE Fission running out 9-1 winners with Csaba Pall and Barry Carter getting maximums
Andy Moore excelled with three wins for Woolton Hill Badgers against Upton Ultraviolets including a fifth set 13-11 victory over Matt Davies but his side still went down 6-4 .Two wins each from Davies and John Talbot and those two combining to win the doubles clinched the win .
Leaders Thatcham C were beaten for the first time this season 6-4 by Ashford Hill Misfits. Denise Weller won all three for Misfits including two five setters and she also linked up with Wendy Porter to take the doubles. Ray Beeks and Seb Bielec won two each for Thatcham C.This leaves Thatcham Spartans one point behind them.
Thatcham Scorpions defeated Kintbury Cobra's 7-3 with Simon Barter getting a treble and Darren Harper a double .Ian Wu won twice for Cobra's.
Bottom team Thatcham A and E put up a plucky performance away to Woolton Hill Wombats just losing 6-4 . Simon Sonsino won all his matches for Wombats and Johnathan Hopson won twice .
Thatcham Scavengers had there first win in this division when they triumphed by 7-3 over Thatcham X with Bob Lynch winning all three and Theresa Watson and Isaac Davies both winning two . Matt Smith played well for X and had two wins.
Thatcham Hawks continue their winning ways with a 10-0 victory over Woolton Hill Racketeers with Geoff Eldred , Ian Dickason and Arthur Smith all winning all their matches.
Second placed Kintbury Outlaws had a much closer match against Inkpen Insufferables with some very entertaining and tight games but eventually won 6-4 by winning the last two matches.Even a Tom Kelly hat trick for Insufferables could not avoid the defeat. David Rawlings and David Rees both won two each and a 12-10 win in final set of doubles was the key.
Thatcham Choppers beat Thatcham Dragons 8-2 to get maximum points with Jeremy Skelton and Ian Whiting both getting maximums
Choppers didn't do quite as well when they played Woolton Hill Woodpeckers and lost 6-4. Archie Dyson played well to get a treble for Woodpeckers and Max McDougal won twice . Ian Whiting was Choppers best winning twice.
Thatcham Spitfires were too strong for Thatcham Dragons and won 9-1 with John Panting and Pat Shaw unbeaten and Ben Haines winning two.
Despite losing 10-0 Rosemoor had some close games against West Ilsley B with three games going to five sets .Steve Cobrin,Lionel Sheppard and Dave Langton however managed to win all their games.
