WEEK 9 REPORT
Ashford Hill Ramblers move to the top of the table with two big wins and are two points ahead of Woolton Hill Eagles who have played two games more.
Firstly they beat Eagles 8-2 with another maximum for Sam Ricks all in straight sets Steve Murgatroyd and John Goodyer winning two each
They went one better in defeating Thatcham Thunder 9-1 with Goodyer and Paul Rattue both unbeaten. David Sheppard getting a good win for Thunder when he won 11-8 in the fifth against Terry White.
Eagles themselves had a big win over Woolton Hill Badgers by 9-1 with trebles from Anthony Baker and Nick Langley . Ian Langley also won twice with only the doubles going beyond three sets .
Thatcham A move into third place with a 10-0 victory over Upton Ultraviolets with Tony Brown , Richard Rosinski and Dave Wise all unscathed although there were some close matches with only four matches won in three sets.
Thatcham C are leading the table by three points after an 8-2 win over Kintbury Cobra's .Bao Tuyen Ly with a maximum and two each from Ray Beeks and Seb Bielec did the damage. Ian Wu won twice for Cobra's and only denied three when he lost 11-8 in deciding set against Ly .
Thatcham Lions are now second three points behind the leaders after a hard fought 6-4 win over Thatcham Scorpions . Eddie Haines was the star as he won all three but only defeating Simon Barter 11-9 in the fifth and partnering Jeff Rogers to win the doubles by the same margin.Barter and Bill Stamatiou both won twice for the losers.
Ashford Hill Misfits beat Woolton Hill Wombats with Wendy Porter and Denise Weller both winning twice and combining to win the doubles 11-9 in the fifth Simon Sonsino had a double for Wombats .
Thatcham Scavengers had a narrow 6-4 win against Thatcham A and E who had a player short.Two wins for Thereasa Watson and a doubles win with Bob Lynch secured the victory whilst Lorraine Mortimer won two for A and E .
Thatcham Hawks lost their 100% record when they drew with West Ilsley B Steve Cobrin who is having an excellent season won all his matches and Lionel Sheppard won twice . Geoff Eldred was a winner twice for Hawks and helped Christine Milne take the vital doubles.
Kintbury Outlaws are second in the table behind Hawks won 8-2 against Woolton Hill Racketeers . David Rawlings won all three for them and he was backed with doubles from John Tanner and David Rees. Sthiven Pinilla won twice for Racketeers.
Woolton Hill Woodpeckers had a good 9-1 win over Thatcham Spitfires with Archie Dyson and Max McDougall both getting maximums
