WEEK 13 REPORT
Ashford Hill Ramblers went 5 points clear at the top of the table with two games in hand as all their nearest challengers dropped points They got maximum points by beating Thatcham A 8-2 with Sam Ricks again getting three wins and Paul Rattue and Steve Murgatroyd getting two each .
Woolton Eagles slipped back after being beaten 7-3 by Thatcham Colts even though Anthony Baker was unbeaten for Eagles . Two each from Joseph Cornmel ,Patrick Garlick and And Jeffery was enough to win the day for Colts.
Thatcham Nomads picked up three points by defeating Woolton Hill Badgers 7-3 with Ray Powell and Nat Richardson both achieving maximums.
Thatcham Thunder picked up a 6-4 win away to Upton Ultraviolets with Csaba Pall winning all three and Barry Carter two .Matt Davies was best for Upton with a double .
Thatcham C took a big step to the title by beating former leaders Thatcham Spartans 10-0 although there were some close games Ray Beeks , Bao Tuyen Ly and Nestor Ceron all performed well on the night .
Another contender Thatcham Lions went down 6-4 to Ashford Hill Misfits who are now also in the promotion race. Wendy Porter had a triple and Simon Craig a double for Misfits and they also won the doubles together. Eddie Haines won twice for Lions
Thatcham Scorpions are in mid table after winning 9-1 against Thatcham A and E with Darren Harper and Simon Barter getting maximums . Only Bill Bavisters last game 11-8 win in fifth set over Dean Mustill saved a whitewash .
Woolton Hill Wombats have a couple of games in hand and also are in mid table and they had an 8-2 win over Thatcham Scavengers with three wins each for Simon Sonsino and Jonathan Hopson . Hopson did well to beat Thereasa Watson 11-7 in final set coming from two down .
Kintbury Cobras are not far behind and beat Thatcham X 9-1 with trebles from Jenny Tanner and Ian Wu
Sajish Pavithran won all three for the second week running but his side Thatcham Dragons were still beaten 6-4 by league leaders Thatcham Hawks Geoff Eldred and Arthur Smith both won twice for Hawks who won the important doubles in four .
There is a pack chasing Hawks with games in hand these include Woolton Hill Woodpeckers who had a hard fought win 6-4 over Woolton Hill Racketeers Archie Dyson had a maximum and Max McDougall won two for Woodpeckers . Best match of the night with some good hitting rallies was Dysons win over Sthiven Pinella 10-12 11-7 11-8 11-9
Another team in the mix is Kintbury Outlaws despite a treble for Thatcham Spitfires John Panting won 7-3 with John Tanner , David Rawlings and David Rees all winning twice along with the doubles
