The Vets1 team played their first match v Reading.
The last two singles were played simultaneously with the match score tied at 2 2. Both singles went to a final 5th set. Anthony Baker beat Reading No1 Neil Hurcombe for the first time 11 9 in the 5th to put Newbury 3 2 up. 
Ian Langley lost the first 2 sets v Alan Cummings answer survived match points in the 4th and 5th sets before losing 11 13 to leave the match drawn.
The senior team of Steve Murgatroyd, Adam Pacyna and Dominic Cutter found it hard going in seniors competition v Reading losing 6 nil. In their second match Murgy and Pacyna each won a singles v Bracknell in a 2 4 loss which meant they finished 3rd as Maidenhead did not field a team
Reading vets had earlier beaten Bracknell 5 1 which meant a clean sweep v Bracknell would win their division. Nat Richardson, 'Robot' Baker and Langley duly delivered to unexpectedly top the Division!
