Week 10 report

Week 10 report

Torrington A took full advantage of Misfits inaction by pulling out a nine point lead in division 1. Ben and Kevin Taylor were unbeaten as they hammered Nets and Edges  9-1. The Nets consolation was won by Martin Eyles – a close game decided 13-11 in the fifth. There was a similar score for Balls of Fury against Chulmleigh A, with Lee Farrant and Marcus Berry both winning their three games. Spin Doctors forced a creditable draw against Smugglers. Michael Sussex won all three for the Doctors, while Peter Dunstan and Martin Babulik led the reply with two apiece.

In division 2 Chulmleigh B lead on 79 points, with Paddlers now second on 69 – though both have played more games than those around them.

Chulmleigh B had a close encounter with Holsworthy B. It ended 5-5, with David Streak keeping his 100% record, dropping few points in the process. David Gray and Harry Collins scored two each for Chulmleigh.

West  Buckland beat Despicables 7-3. Rob Baker lead the way with a triple, which included a tight victory (11-9 in the fifth) over Malc Overson. Overson then won his other two, while Alan Briggs scored two for the home team.

Two other games in division two ended 10-0. Paddlers crushed the Dolphins, thanks to Rob Gale, Mike Hill and Tim Cooke. Littleham did the same to the Vice. Maximum wins came for Dave Stone, Mike Bellew and Alan Pomeroy – the latter winning a close match in 5 over Bob Taylor.

After last week's victory, Chulmleigh Chiefs were brought down to earth by Minions. The visitors won 9-1, with Dennis Jones, getting back to form, and Steve Richardson both unbeaten on the night. The Chiefs point was won by Joey Butt who was close in all his games.

There is no information yet on the Holworthy A vs C clash.  (This match is now re-scheduled for WB 11/12/2017)
