Week 13 report

Week 13 Report – w/b 18 December

Some close matches in division 1 this week. Torrington A kept up their lead in the division with a 6-4 win over Smugglers. Ben and Kevin Taylor didn't bring any Yuletide presents to the table as they won all of their games to ensure the win. The Smugglers team won one game each and took the doubles to keep the score close. Misfits beat Nets and Edges by a similar margin, though the Edges Martin Eyles was star player with 3 wins. Keith le Milliere, Peter Kneil and Martyn Beer each won two.

In the other game Spin Doctors had a good win – 7-3 -over Balls of Fury. Michael Sussex was unbeaten on the night ably supported by Dave Ewen and Dave Morgan with 2 wins each. Marcus Berry with 2 provided the only resistance on the night.

In division 2, Chulmleigh B cemented their lead with a 10 point win over Despicables. They were helped by Malc Overson's injury which we hope will improve swiftly.

Littleham and Holsworthy A fought out a 5-5 draw. Dave Stone and Mike Bellew picked up two points each for Littlham while Holsworthy were aided by a good performance from Nathan Jukes, also with two points. Ernie Maud scored his first triple with a good performance against the Chiefs in a 6-4 win for the Vice. Paul King led the resistance with two wins.

West Buckland had an easy time against Dolphins picking up 9 points. Maximum scores were attained by Rob Baker and Alan  Briggs, with Mike Fawcett picking up the consolation point.

Minions had one eye on the Christmas movies as they lost 2-8 to Holsworthy B. Dennis Jones won the Minions only points on the night, but the visitors had David Streak maintaining his unbeaten record, backed with good performances from Barry Stearman and Jill Knightly - each with two points.

Chulmleigh B now lead the division with 99 points, 11 ahead of Holsworthy B.

Merry Christmas to all!
