Week 21 Report

Week 21 League Round-up

 W/b 19 March

Congratulations to Torrington A!! They have secured the Division 1 title in the final full week of the season. Misfits needed an 8-2 win over Torrington to claim the trophy but Torrie proved to be too strong running out with a 7-3 win.  Further congratulations to Kevin Taylor who managed to go through the season without a single defeat.  Hopefully the acceptance speech is being polished for the Presentation Evening! Misfits have taken second place just 9 points behind Torrington.

Spin Doctors had a healthy 8-2 win over 2 man Nets and Edges. Michael Sussex and Dave Ewen won both of their matches. The  Doctors have finished a very respectable fourth place in their first season together.

In the other match, Smugglers, with Messrs Hedge, Babulik and Dunstan, had a comprehensive 10-0 win over Chulmleigh A.

In division two, Chulmleigh Chiefs had mixed fortunes. They lost 10-0 to Chulmleigh B  - no neighbourly love there!  The Chiefs then beat Despicables 8-2. The B's trio of Harry Collins, Gerard O'Boyle and Shaun Clarke have made the division 2 title pretty secure.  Chiefs' Greg Anson had a great maximum score against Despicables while Richard Nicholls continues to pick up useful wins.

Paddlers had a comfortable 9-1 victory over Holsworthy C, with Robin Gale and Mike Hill picking up three points each.  It was the same score in Littleham's favour at Dolphins.  Well done to Thomas Venn and Dave Stone for their unbeaten evening.  A number of games went to a fifth set.

The final game saw Minions ratchet up a 10-0 win over the Vice.  Lindsey Wright had her second maximum score of the season.  Well done!

While the title does not appear in doubt, Paddlers, Holsworthy B and Minions are all contesting second place.
