A good turnout of 11 pairs enjoyed some close games with the title in the end heading Holsworthy way.

Group A of the Round Robin was won by a clear margin by Tim Cooke and James Raymont, with Dave and Owen Salisbury in second place (just!) from Dave Andrews and Dennis Jones.

Group B saw Jill Knightly and Dave Streak come out on top, with Steve Richardson and Lindsey Wright second. Rob Gale and Mike Hill were just denied a semi-final place.

In the semis, both of which went to a deciding set, Tim and James edged out Steve and Lindsey, 9-11,11-5,11-7, while the all Holsworthy tie saw Dave and Owen just beaten by Jill and Dave – 11-7,5-11, 8-11.

The final – a marathon over 5 sets – also went to a decider. It was tight and cagey all through. Tim and James took the first easily 11-3, then it went 8-11,9-11, 11-9 with Dave and Jill coming through 11-5 in the last set.
