Week 18 report

With Torrington not playing this week, their lead over Misfits was reduced to just 5 points. In division 2 Chulmleigh B look to have a very healthy lead, while Holsworthy A are looking to mount a challenge for the runners-up spot.

An unbeaten Daniel Moore led Misfits to a 8-2 win over Spin Doctors. Keith le Milliere and Martyn Beer each won two while the Doctors' resistance came from Michael Sussex. Wim Faassen was in good from for balls of fury with two of his sides three points. However, Smugglers were too strong and came away with a 7-3 win, Peter Hedge, Matthew Thomas and Martin Babulik each picking up two points.

The final game in this division was a bottom of the table affair between Chulmleigh  A and Nets and Edges. The Netters came out 7-3 victors. Martin Eyles claimed a maximum as did Harry Thomas. Rhys Eyles claimed his first point in this division.

It was top vs nearly bottom in league 2. Chumleigh B put the Vice to the sword 10-0. The trio of Gerard O'Boyle, Shaun Clarke  and Harry Collins were too strong with Bob Taylor coming close for the Vice in two games.

David Streak and Barry Stearman both scored maximum points for Holsworthy B against Chulmleigh Chiefs in an 8-2 victory. Good to see Pete White getting some games in. He scored one of his teams wins.

Paddlers had a close match against Simply Smashing – emerging winners by a 6-4 margin. Rob Gale led the way for Paddlers with a triple, including a very close affair against James Raymont. James won his other two, and the Smashers won a close doubles match. Dolphins' Mike Fawcett won two against Holsworthy C and Alan Slade came clos in a number of games, but the Holsworthy team ran out 8-2 winners. Doug Genini picked up three points with Sumiyo Berkeley and Rob Woodhouse backing up with two each.

Only Jai Moore offered resistance to Holsworthy A, picking up West Buckland's sole point. The A team trio of Dave Salisbury, Helen Murgatroyd, and Nathan Jukes were in fine form – Dave and Helen unbeaten. Littleham had a fine 9-1 win over Despicables. Dave Stone and Alan Pomeroy were in imperious form, each picking up three points.
