League Update 22nd July
The Northumbria Summer League first division match between the leaders Cramlington Stingers and Byker featured two of the County’s leading players Andrew Wilkinson and Dave Robson. Wilkinson turned out to be the man in form with a straight games victory over his rival and also getting a hat-trick as the Stingers ran out 7 – 3 winners.
Young Josh Weatherby and veteran Jimmy Scope were both unbeaten for Saint Chads who moved up into second place after a convincing 9 – 1 success over Cramlington Casuals. Duncan Wraight got the only set for the losers by defeating Paul Baines.
The Old England team of Jake Helm, Joseph Muldowney and Lynne Herrington retained their unbeaten record and top spot in division two by beating Cramlington Cobras 10 – 0 and the young Sacriston Bombers side of Dan Hutchinson, Peter Snallcombe and Max Duffin moved up to second by beating North Fire 7 – 3.
In Division three the leaders Lanchester A were without Dave McAllister and lost their 100% record when they were held to a draw by Brandon A. However young Thaaquib Saleem won all of his matches including a victory over fellow youngster Simon Knopf. 
Peter Whitfield was the man of the match when the two Sacriston sides, Comets and Chargers met in division four although his side went down 6 – 4 to the Comets Debbie Irwin, Colin Pritchard and Matt Greenwood.   In the same division Jamie Lupton was in fine form for Brandon Bees and his unbeaten performance saw his side defeat Lanchester B 6 – 4.
Matfen C  kept up their winning ways in Division five by defeating Cramlington Lions 8 – 2 with Tom Manuel unbeaten and Richard Rayfield and Raymond Lazareto getting two each. Young Adam Webster got the two sets for the lions.
