Code of Practice for players

Table Tennis England expects that everyone involved with table tennis will respect the rights, dignity and worth of anyone they meet within our sport; treat everyone equally regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, social status or sexual orientation; accept it is all of our responsibility to challenge any injustice that may occur within our sport; accept that everyone has the right to be protected from abuse.

All players in the Northumbria League are expected to observe the following which are extracts from the table tennis England code of conduct for players

1 Always do your best in every situation and set a positive example to others

2 Be punctual at all times

3 Treat the match and venue with respect

4 No player should take or in any way interfere with another person’s property or belongings

5 Be courteous and polite to all the people you meet whilst in your team, particularly your opponents, practice partners, coaches and fellow team members

6 always respect and never under estimate your opponents

7 Always encourage and support your fellow team members at all times without behaving in an unsporting manner towards their opponents.

8 Bullying (verbal and physical) of fellow team members or opponents will not be tolerated in any circumstances

9 Never use inappropriate language.

10 Always address officials with respect and never question their judgement.
