Chairmans Welcome to the new season 2015-16

Welcome from the Chairman

Welcome to a new season. Following our AGM the committee have been busy pre season in an effort to resolve certain comments with regard to the future of our great sport.

The Town Championships has a new venue. This season we will hold the championships at The Nuneaton Academy in Stockingford. We will play over two days, First weekend of February. I hope you will all support us in this new venue. The entry forms and order of play will be forwarded soon.

To encourage new players to the league we will begin a funded coaching course in mid October at the Nuneaton Academy. This will run alongside the current coaching at Higham Lane. Further details will be announced shortly.

The website has improved again this season, many thanks to TT365 and Paul Ingram and Pete Morris who input the details.

Also, a big thank you from us all to Sue Hobley, our treasurer, who has just completed her 20th season. What an excellent achievement for a lady who doesn't play table tennis. An inspiration to us all.

Congratulations to the grand master of our league, Dick Jenkins, who has been made life member unanimously by the committee, His achievements over six decades will take some beating - see the separate article about him.

Also a reminder that from the beginning of this season that the old celluloid balls can no longer be used and the new plastic balls must be used. The league does have a stock of these if required by any team.

I look forward to meeting you all throughout the season.

If you have any comments please contact me.

Enjoy your table tennis.

Bob.
