Division 1

Birley Moss 5 v Honeywell B 5

Honeywell teams seem to be a thorn in the side of Birley Moss, and their B team continued this practice with an excellent draw and Rob Carter achieving man of the match status.

Division 3

Uppermill B 3 v Unison C 7

This was a great win for Unison C with Allan Auxilly registering another 3 wins and 2 from Ted Robakowski and 1 from Adam Stamp. Father and son won the 3 sets for Uppermill. Howard Meadham battled valiantly losing all of his sets in 5 games

Deaf B 2 v Deaf A 8

As usual, when teams from the same club meet you can guarantee a competitive evening’s table tennis.

Whilst the score suggests a comfortable win this was not the case with 6 of the sets being settled in the 4th game.

Division 4

Grotton B 4 v Hollinwood F 6

In the promotion battle 2nd place Hollinwood achieved a good away win against the experienced 3rd placed Grotton B improving on their previously drawn encounter. Neil Hepworth’s 3 sets with support from Sasi and John Farrow. Grotton replied with 2 each from Gary Owen and Steve Smith.

Unison E 6 v Owls B 4

Middle of table Unison E added to Owls B relegation threat with this win. Owls only 6 points ahead of Deaf C who have a game in hand, promises a close finish to the season. Hopefully, Dennis Heyes first match of the season is the start of his return to the league.
