A team continue to struggle

The A team of Mark, Mike and Neil hosted Riding Mill A last night and unfortunately the end result is becoming all too familiar to us posting an 8-2 loss. Although the result looks like we got a right thrashing the score-sheet shows that there were no really easy games bar perhaps Mark vs Mark O'Connor in the final match. All of the other games were close with no real walkover scores to speak of. Man of the match Mark O'Connor struggled with the home net and caught the top of it many times only to see the ball fly off the end on numerous occasions but had enough in his locker to win all three of his games. Neil managed to reverse the defeat against Maurice Cheek of a few weeks ago and sneaked an 11-9 win in the 5th end after trailing 9-6 down. He also opened up in the 5th end against Peter Stempcyyk to pull off his other win. In the doubles Neil and Mark won the first two ends only to see the doubles partnership of Mark and Peter raise the bar and go on to win the final three ends to bag the win although they admitted afterwards we'd probably pushed them the hardest so far this season.

Overall we know we are not a million miles off the form we need to start pulling in a few more points to try and ensure we avoid relegation back into the 2nd Division. We host Cramlington Tigers at home next Monday night and they are currently 3rd in the league so another tough night to look forward too!
