Todd Stanmore (still 11!) had a great day at the Wood Green Academy, Wednesbury on Saturday, 7th October, winning the Under 13 singles and taking the runner-up prize in Cadets. In the final of the Under 13s, Todd just got the better of Lewis Ellams (South Yorkshire) (11-3, 8-11, 11-13, 11-2, 11-8), who had beaten him at last year’s Nationals. Todd is currently ranked 9th in English Under 13 Boys and Lewis is ranked 11th.

Rafe Fleming (15) reached the main draw in juniors, winning 2/4 matches, while Kiarash Shaddel (15) won 2/5, progressing to the semi-final of the junior consolation event. With a final tally of 12/13 Todd was clearly our star performer, but both Kiarash and Rafe are gaining valuable competitive experience in their first year as juniors.
