After Week 21

Most of Week 20 didn't happen as many of us were snowbound! The league positions remain open until everyone can catch up, but all must be played before Easter.

The highlight of the season sees the Sentinel Cup Final being played on Tuesday, 21st March at the Ball Green working Men’s Club in wilding Road and yet again it is between the Norton A and B teams. Norton B’s team of Chris Bailey, Neil Hough and Captain Paul Malkin turned the tables on their A team 2 years ago and retained the title last year, so are now after a hat trick. The A team of Captain Brian Johns, Dave Savage and Mark Evans will be looking to reverse their loss and regain the title. The match starts at 7.30pm, anyone is welcome and if it turns out to be even half as good at the past two years, it will be a fantastic night out and well worth a visit.

The Bradwell Handicap will be played the following week on Tuesday 27th March at the MESC club and is between MESC D and Bradwell C.

In the league, top of the table in the Premier Division is still unknown, but it is relegation for Bradwell C and Kidsgrove B and it is another two Kidsgrove teams who face the drop in Division 1, where the C and D teams will both go down. Promotion is certain for MESC B and Norton E from Division 1, but just who will take the top honour is so close, being equal on points and sets, it could be decided on points. Norton K’s team of Lucie & Molly Hancock and Rob Warman are clear winners of Division 2, but the MESC C and D teams are fighting to take the runners-up spot and this again could be down to the wire.
